Modern Quilting Table Runner
This workshop is suitable for confident beginner/intermediate quilters
Made in bright and bold colours (as is typical of modern quilting approaches) and four non-traditional quilting blocks, the runner is quilted with a serpentine stitch (or another of your machine decorative stitches) and is bound with a folded binding.
The runner finishes at approximately 13 by 41 inches and would look eye-catching in a kitchen or on a coffee table.
During the workshop we will talk about what modern quilting is and in the morning focus on block-making.
In the afternoon, students may want to continue with their block-making or learn more about layering up the quilt sandwich, quilting approaches and different methods of binding. As well as the supplies for the runner itself, you should bring 2-3 quilt sandwiches approximately 10 inches square (these could be orphan blocks) for practising quilting and binding.
